SIXTHIRTY ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR FALL 2017 PORTFOLIO

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

ST. LOUIS, MO (June 6, 2017) – SixThirty, the global financial technology (“FinTech”) venture fund and business development program based in St. Louis, Missouri, opened applications for its Fall 2017 Portfolio.

SixThirty targets late-seed stage B2B FinTech companies with working products and market traction, and focuses on accelerating their revenue growth. Selected companies will receive up to a $100,000 investment in exchange for a negotiated percentage of equity. The companies participate in SixThirty’s business development program that provides hands-on mentorship and networking opportunities with leaders from the top financial services companies in the country.

“SixThirty is a platform for connecting the most promising FinTech ideas from across the globe with incumbent financial institutions” said Atul Kamra, Managing Partner of SixThirty. “We make this possible by surrounding the FinTech companies we invest in with mentorship from experienced entrepreneurs, operators, and corporate partners.” Kamra elaborated, “through participation in the SixThirty business development program, FinTech companies work alongside industry SMEs and leaders from SixThirty’s corporate partners, including Edward Jones, Ernst & Young, Reinsurance Group of America (RGA), State Farm and UMB Bank. These organizations provide hands-on mentorship, make connections across their networks and accelerate FinTech relationships.”

SixThirty’s model has attracted leading FinTech entrepreneurs and financial services corporations, alike to the table. Since its launch in August 2013, SixThirty has invested in 31 FinTech companies which have raised over $100 million in capital. In 2016, SixThirty and St. Louis were recognized by Village Capital, in partnership with the Kauffman Foundation and the Rise of the Rest initiative, as a pioneering FinTech community. Applications for the Spring 2017 Portfolio were split 50/50 between domestic and international applicants, and SixThirty expects to see this trend of global applications persist. As Farron Blanc, Vice President of Innovation at RGA, puts it, “we’re trying to create an ecosystem of partners, and SixThirty helps accelerate that by bringing in the best and brightest global entrepreneurs to create new startups that align with our mission.”

Applications for the Fall 2017 Business Development Program are being accepted through July 5th, and can be found here. FinTech companies with questions regarding the SixThirty fund and business development program can contact Chisom Uche with SixThirty, at chisom@sixthirty.co or 281.961.7116.
